The next stop we made in Revelstoke. I wondered, where its name was coming from?
From Revel? Probably, not.
The town was small, as it would be anywhere else in Canada. But it was very charming, of a patriarchal character, as many old Canadian towns were. "Old", in fact, was relative. As other towns in this area, Revelstoke was not more than 120-130 years old. Certainly, other people lived there before, Indian tribes, for example, but it was another History. This is Revelstoke downtown:

As I wrote before, there were bikers rushing all over Canada. They apparently had a nest here:
There was music on this square on Sunday. Downtown, just one block long, was blocked; lazy residents gathered on the square; and a couple of local (may be not?) musicians played their simple music and sang in this hut:
Truly, there was no difference between this life style and the one of a small town somewhere in Europe. The decorations were different, that's it. |
